WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT AZP:
“Arizona Pinstripe’s sound aligns with the resurgence of blues rock in the late ’90s and early 2000’s. They tap into bands such as the Alabama Shakes (Brittany Howard’s vocals in particular), and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. At times, Arizona Pinstripe pushes this blues resurrection in a more punk direction, while also dipping a toe into indie-folk.”
- MIMI STRAUSS,
“Andrea has an intoxicating voice that is soulful & deep. Combine that with Andrew's magic on the Harmonica & you get a real powerful duo that'll leave you with the chills!!!”
“Andrew and Andrea have crafted a melodic, interesting and slightly edgy blues piece that has obvious nods to
their musical influences without losing what makes it unique.”
It was within Denver's colorful, evolving music scene that Andrea and Andrew first met and started making music together. With influences ranging from blues, classic rock, hard rock, punk, metal and folk music, they set out to forge a new sound by combining their songwriting and guitar styles. After playing as a duo for over a year, they asked Chad "the Chanimal" to join in on bass after the band he was in moved out of state. Kevin ran into the group at a practice space and after a bit of communication and one lively cajon jam, was inducted immediately. With Kevin's percussive versatility and Chad's groovy bass licks matched with Andrea's powerful vocals & Andrews remarkable harmonica solos, this up-and-coming rock act has a unique and captivating flare.
As a duo, they performed festivals, coffee shops, radio stations, large concert halls, dive bars and everywhere in between. After a well-reviewed live EP, Andrew and Andrea recorded with the supremely talented Brad Smalling at his solar powered Evergroove Studio. The 6 song album appropriately named “PATH” was unveiled April 2016 and they followed it with a successful multi-state tour. Along with some new songs, the EP features fan favorites like the sweet n’ dreamy folk tune “Flower in Disguise” and the energetic, nostalgic blues-rock jam “Something about Hometowns.” Now, as a full band, they have a fall tour scheduled with a set of new & reinvented originals, as well as impressive renditions of songs by artists like Koko Taylor, Albert King, & The Cranberries.
